Self-defense training for a threat that hasn’t occurred involves a certain level of fantasy. Imagining situations and opponents is inherent. What I find so refreshing about Krav Maga is the practicality and directness. The goal is not to put on a show but to gain on-the-ground defense as quickly as possible. Running away being presented as a viable option is sensible and pragmatic. The instructors at Krav Maga Cleveland don’t play into the false pretense of turning you into an action hero badass. The focus is practicing getting out of potentially threatening scenarios in a way that can work best for you and the situation. Adding in a couple kickboxing classes a week definitely helps with the overall strength. I wasn’t in bad shape before I started, but the High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) using attacks from Krav has definitely improved my strength and stamina.
